Psalm 120:1 (NKJV) ... In my distress I cried to the LORD, And He heard me.
Crying out is not unusual, a student driver was practicing, traffic on the road increased, many drivers were swerving in and out of traffic and the student caught up in the moment began changing lanes erratically, stop the instructor called out and the driver hit the brakes in the middle of the road, causing cars all around to come to a complete standstill.
When we cry out to God, He hears and listens to our heart, it tells Him our motive and desires. The heart bent on letting God work will experience great joy and fulfillment, the heart just wanting relief will suffer sadness and experience doubts.
God hears and like a loving father desires the best for us, however we must desire His will for us above every other thing. What is your desire today, will it please God or you, you must choose?
Heavenly Father let us look up when all of our circumstances say no, let us look to You when things are easy, let us long for your Presence when there are no problems. May we then recognize that looking to You in difficult times is easy because it has become a habit. Amen
