Matthew 20:33 (NKJV) 33 They said to Him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened."
A prisoner questioned how do I know God will hear my prayer, I want His will for my life? In the Old Testament we read, "The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined." Isaiah 9:2
In Matthew 20, two blind men hear Jesus is approaching, they cry out for attention, when told to be silent by the crowd, they cry even louder and the Lord responds. Jesus knowing their desire still questions, "What is that you want from Me," the Master knows but we must articulate the deep desires of the heart. The men no longer want to be blind. When we want to see more than the darkness that surrounds us, Jesus will hear the cry of our hearts.
Heavenly Father hear Oh God the cry of our hearts, we need You, help us to be obedient, help us to live for You, help us Lord to walk in the light You are. May our prayers exalt You, may our living please You, may our every thought bear witness of You. Amen
